A powerful vacuum, indeed
BRECO Timing belts from Mulco as a conveying means
Heavy and awkward shaped flat objects, such as sheet steel, glass and plastic sheets, particle boards and similar products, are difficult to handle and to transport, the more so when they consist of non ferromagnetic materials. Especially manufacturers in the automotive, glass and plastics industries, manufacturers of cardboard and the wood working industry suffer from this problem.
Neuhäuser Magnet- und Fördertechnik GmbH in Lünen have developed and patented in Europe a new vacuum, transport and positioning system equipped with suitable vacuum belts for suspended and supported transport. The vacuum belt’s technical feasibility and the production method was a joint undertaking with the Mulco partner RRG INDUSTRIETECHNIK GMBH, Mülheim/Ruhr.BRECO vacuum timing belts with welded on suction cups are bevelled on two sides and embedded between two raised safety rails to protect against possible shearing off caused by vertical or jammed objects, provided with a sealing lip on the tooth side. The tasks of these vacuum belts used in vacuum stackers include the suction, take-up, fixation, transport and stacking of the most varied flat or slightly shaped materials, such as, for example, aluminium, stainless steel, brass, copper, plastic, particle board or cardboard. These timed belt conveyors perform their heavy duty tasks in a smooth and relatively silent manner.
The example of this BRECO TIMING belt from Mulco reveals once again the unparalleled multitude and flexibility of polyurethane timing belts. Based on the technological necessity of equipping the belt transport side with vacuum cups to fulfil their lifting and suctioning tasks, the toothed face of polyurethane timing belt is fitted with sealing lips between its teeth. They perform their sealing effect along a coated guide profile with segmented vacuum supply channels. The special design of the polyurethane timing belt, combined with the extremely high anti-friction property of guide rail, prevents abrasion over the entire transport distance.
Compressed air supplied ejectors assure the vacuum generation and supply a maximum vacuum of 85 % at an operating pressure of 5 bar. The low air consumption keeps operating costs extremely low.
For the so-called “all metal” processing industry, such as for instance the automotive industry and the service centres, Neuhäuser Magnet- und Fördertechnik GmbH have developed the technology of combined vacuum and magnetic conveying allowing ferromagnetic and non ferromagnetic, panel shaped workpieces of any shape to be transported on separate timing belt conveyors. High precision board pick-up, suspended transport, accurate and reproducible board drop at high speed, fast acceleration / deceleration and a high number of cycles count among the special features of this development patented in Europe.
Vacuum and magnet conveyors fulfilling these high demands are just one example for the many fields of application for BRECO polyurethane timing belts from Mulco.
The product range, almost unrivalled in its wide selection, quality and high technological standard covers almost every application associated with timing belt technology.
The possibility of use and design of PU timing belts are as manifold as the designers’ ideas.
Mulco - Europe EWIV customers relay on the know-how, the knowledge of innovative problem solutions and the technical advance gained over decades and resulting from the permanent further development of Mulco products.
